Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord... Philippians 3:8

As final arrangements are being made for Community Vacation Bible School and Camp season, I ask that you join me in prayer for the adults who are making these preparations and the children that we will have the privelege to share Jesus with.

Holy God, I ask that you fill the hearts of those with peace as final preparations are made for the upcoming summer events. That all decisions made would glorify you. We ask that all adults seek your will first and put themselves last. i ask that you prepare the hearts of adults who haven't yet made plans to bring their child to the events. That you would urge them to bring their children. Prepare the hearts of the children that are eagerly awaiting these activites. That they would be ready to learn about Jesus and the plans that He has for them! You are an amazing God. May your will be done in all things. Amen!

Thanks to everyone for your prayers for my dad. He is doing much better today. I am praying that he gets to go home today. He is not a good hospital patient! As I was thinking about my Dad's lifestyle (and mine) and wondering why we don't head the warnings of medical professionals? What keeps us from submitting to a new way of eating, exercising, etc? Of course my answer is going to be Satan's lies! He's full of them! When we aren't filling ourselves with God's word, we fall prey to his deceptions. Oh, one little thing won't hurt you he says and soon all those little things together HAVE hurt you.

It's just like our walk with Jesus. He warns us of impending judgement. Do we listen? Are we taking steps to protect ourselves spiritually? Let HIM be your guide. Listen to HIM. He wins in the end!

I was priveleged to have lunch with a dear friend today between hospital visits. Thank you God for the visits of encouragement that you send my way.

Babies are one of God's special gifts. I am still amazed today at how God designed the entire process, all the things that have to work in order for the babies arrival. How blessed we are that God entrusts us with the special "packages".

On the other end of the age spectrum, hearing your parents are diagnosed with cancer is tough to process. As I spoke to a member of the church about her mothers diagnosis, I was processing how we get from that grand entrance into the world to the other end of the age spectrum. For me today, it was a few miles, but for others its a long hard journey.

What happends between those two events? It's what we make it. It's the choices we make. Are the choices we are making today glorifying God?

A frog catching a fly.

Finished reading #6 in the Manga Bible series. I started with the New Testament. I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. Here is a clip from the back of the book: "The Bible is larger than life, and kids will love reading the stories told through the graphic storytelling of Korean manga. Readers will enjoy learning the Bible's characters and landscapes portrayed through this cutting-edge style of art now popular around the world." It's not really "graphic". Its the Bible portrayed in comic book format. It's humor is funny.

I would recommend 4th graders and up reading these! Check back for more comments on this series as I start at #1!

Just finished reading my Mother's Day present, the new book by Tim LaHaye & Craig Parshall "Edge of Apocalypse". The christian story line depicts a corrupt government in the very near future. I know its fiction, but if that kind of stuff really happens in the world today, then I'm even more ready to go home....to Heaven!

Its a good read. Let me know if you want to borrow it!

I am in awe about God. I was listening to a sermon today as I traveled to Bedford to visit my parents. The speaker was talking about the resurrection. How powerful God is and how some people just can't get past this "thing" of kneeling before a powerful being. This "thing" about taking up your cross, denying all else and following Him. As he described his relationship with Christ, I identified with what he was saying. The peace....The voice I hear giving me direction....It's not coincidence. HE is real. HE is in control.

He told a story about a man in New York that had been mugged. He was taken to an ATM and was forced to withdraw money. They stole everything including his laptop. As he later told what had happened to him and the opportunity he got to share a little bit of Jesus with one of the muggers, he said "I wish I could have shared Jesus more directly with all of them. I just hope they search through the files on my laptop. There's all kinds of spiritual stuff on it."

Question: If someone stole your belongings, would they see evidence of Christ?

Its hard to believe that May is here! There are so many exciting things that I get to work on. Community Vacation Bible School, Junior and Overnight camps at Illiana and the now famous Terrific Tuesdays. I am looking forward to another summer filled with wonderful kids!

So let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up! Galatians 6:9
